An anchor chain is a chain connecting the anchor and the hull to transmit and buffer the external forces experienced by the ship. Part of the friction can also be generated. The main function of the anchor is to fix and stabilize the ship. The anchor chain is made up of many chain links, and the size is expressed by the chain diameter (mm). The anchor chain can be made by forging, casting and welding. The ship anchor chain is composed of several "sections", each section is 25 to 27 meters long, and the sections are connected by chain links or shackles. After the anchor is twisted, the chain is stored in the chain locker at the bow of the ship. The specifications of the anchor chain are calculated in accordance with the ship construction standards.
