End Shackle is a forged anchor chain accessory designed to connect the end link of an anchor chain to an anchor, swivel, or other anchoring components. Manufactured from forged alloy steel, the shackle provides a detachable connection while maintaining the required mechanical strength and dimensional compatibility with the corresponding anchor chain. Standard products are available for U2 and U3 anchor chain grades, matching chain diameters from 12.5 mm to 162 mm. Each shackle is proof tested, inspected, and permanently marked to ensure complete product traceability.
Materials: CM490/CM690
The End Shackle, also known as an Anchor End Shackle, is a critical component in any marine mooring system. Its primary function is to create a secure, load-bearing connection between the crown shackle of the anchor and the first link of the anchor chain (or swivel forerunner). The integrity of this single fitting is essential for the safety and reliability of the entire anchoring assembly.
At TopOne Chain, we manufacture our End Shackles from high-tensile, forged alloy steel, ensuring maximum strength and resistance to the harsh marine environment. Designed with a distinctive oval pin, our shackles are available in Grade U2 and U3 to match the specifications of your anchor chain. Each shackle is engineered for durability, providing a secure and dependable connection you can trust.
End Shackle is a forged connecting component used at the terminal end of an anchor chain assembly. It provides the connection between the anchor chain and the anchor, swivel, enlarged end link, or other anchor chain accessories, forming part of a complete marine anchoring system.
The shackle is manufactured from forged alloy steel through closed-die forging, followed by machining, heat treatment, dimensional calibration, and mechanical testing. The assembly typically consists of a shackle body, main pin, locking pin, and lead plug. After assembly, the locking components secure the main pin to prevent movement during repeated anchor deployment, retrieval, and continuous vessel loading.
End Shackles are manufactured to match the dimensions and strength requirements of stud link and studless anchor chains. Standard products are available for U2 and U3 chain grades with nominal chain diameters from 12.5 mm to 162 mm. They are widely used on container ships, bulk carriers, oil tankers, LNG carriers, offshore platforms, FPSOs, naval vessels, floating docks, and permanent mooring systems.
