BBB Windlass Chain is manufactured from low carbon welded steel with a short link configuration for marine anchoring and windlass systems. The short pitch design provides smooth engagement with BBB windlass gypsies and reduces chain twisting during deployment and retrieval. Standard trade sizes range from 1/4 in. (7 mm) to 1/2 in. (13 mm). Each chain is proof tested to 2 times the Working Load Limit (WLL) and supplied in standard drum lengths for marine and recreational anchoring applications.
BBB Windlass Chain is a short link welded chain designed for anchor windlass systems on recreational boats, yachts, fishing vessels, and small commercial craft. The chain dimensions comply with the BBB chain profile, allowing accurate engagement with matching windlass gypsies and smooth operation during anchoring.
Manufactured from low carbon steel, the chain is available in sizes from 1/4 in. (7 mm) to 1/2 in. (13 mm). The compact link design improves flexibility, allows the chain to stow efficiently inside the chain locker, and reduces the possibility of twisting or jamming during operation. Standard finishes include hot-dip galvanized, self color, and black finish depending on service requirements.
Each chain is proof tested at 2 times the Working Load Limit (WLL) before shipment. The Minimum Breaking Load is typically 3 to 4 times the WLL, providing the safety margin required for normal anchoring operations. Every production batch is inspected for dimensions, weld quality, and mechanical performance to ensure product consistency and traceability.
