Grade 100 Quad Master Links

Grade 100 Quad Master LinksEngineered to work with Grade 100 and Grade 80 Alloy SteelIncreased working load limit by at least 25% as compared to a similar product in Grade 80Designed to make a three or four leg chain or wire rope slingRaised letter embossing of size and grade for easy identificationProof Tested & Certified.

Manufactured from quenched and tempered alloy steel, the Grade 100 Quad Master Link is built to withstand extreme industrial environments. The forged or welded construction (depending on size) is optimized for maximum toughness and fatigue resistance. Each assembly features raised letter embossing for permanent identification of size, grade, and batch code, ensuring full compliance with international safety regulations. Finished with a high-visibility powder coating, it provides superior resistance to abrasion and environmental corrosion.

  • Introduction

    Engineering for Balanced Multi-Leg Lifting

In complex rigging operations involving three or four legs, maintaining load balance is critical. The Grade 100 Quad Master Link assembly is engineered to solve the "point-loading" issues associated with single master links. By utilizing two sub-links, the assembly allows the sling legs to "self-align with the tension vector because of the articulated movement of the sub-links." This prevents the master link from experiencing excessive bending stress and ensures that the load is distributed according to the calculated sling angles.

    Advanced Metallurgy and Heat Treatment

The durability of TopOne Grade 100 components is a result of precise metallurgical engineering. We utilize Chromium-Nickel-Molybdenum (CrNiMo) alloy steel, which is known for its high hardenability and impact toughness. The Quenching and Tempering (Q&T) process is meticulously controlled to achieve a hardness range of 38-42 HRC. This specific heat treatment "enhances the fatigue life because of the creation of a tempered martensite structure," which allows the link to withstand 20,000 cycles at 1.5 times the WLL without failure.

    Rigorous Testing for Extreme Safety

Fatigue Testing: Our quad master links are fatigue rated, meaning they are "tested to withstand repetitive loading cycles because of the need to ensure long-term safety in high-frequency lifting applications."

Non-Destructive Testing (MPI): Every link undergoes Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) after heat treatment to ensure it is "free from surface cracks or sub-surface defects because of the critical nature of overhead lifting safety."

Impact Toughness: Tested at -40°C to ensure the material "remains ductile in extreme cold because of the high-quality deoxidation process used during steel manufacturing."

    Standards

    International Compliance and Certification

The Grade 100 Quad Master Link is manufactured and certified to meet the most stringent international standards for lifting components:

EN 1677-4: Components for slings - Safety - Part 4: Links, Grade 8 (Modified for Grade 100 increased load capacity).

ASTM A952/A952M: Standard Specification for Forged Grade 100 Alloy Steel Lifting Components.

ASME B30.26: Rigging Hardware - Safety Standard for Cableways, Cranes, Derricks, Hoists, Hooks, Jacks, and Slings.

ISO 9001: Quality Management Systems - Ensuring "consistent product quality because of the rigorous process control and documentation."

    Testing Procedures

Proof Loading: 100% of units are tested to 2.5 times the WLL. This "verifies the structural integrity of the welds and material because of the application of controlled over-load."

Ductility Testing: Samples are tested to ensure they can "withstand deformation without fracture because of the need for visible warning before ultimate failure."

Dimensional Inspection: Every batch is checked against standardized tolerances to ensure "perfect fitment with other rigging hardware because of the precision manufacturing process."

    Safety and Maintenance

Sling Angles: Always account for the horizontal sling angle. The WLL of the quad master link assembly is "maintained only when the included angle between legs is within the specified limits (typically 0°-60°)."

Inspection: Regularly inspect for nicks, gouges, or cracks. Remove from service if wear at any point exceeds 10% of the original dimension.

Temperature Limits: Suitable for use from -40°F to 400°F (-40°C to 204°C). For temperatures above 400°F, the WLL must be reduced according to manufacturer guidelines.

Discard Criteria: Replace the assembly if any link shows signs of elongation, permanent deformation, or if the powder coating is severely compromised, exposing the steel to corrosive pitting.
