  • Introduction

    Engineered for Permanent, High-Capacity Lifting

The Grade 100 Double Base Weld-on Ring is the professional choice for creating permanent lifting points on heavy-duty equipment. Unlike bolt-on points, weld-on rings provide a seamless, high-strength connection that is ideal for applications where the lifting point will be subjected to constant use or extreme loads. The "Double Base" design is specifically engineered to provide a larger welding surface, which significantly improves the structural integrity of the attachment and allows for higher load capacities.

    Material Science and Manufacturing Excellence

Advanced Alloy Steel Construction Our weld-on rings are manufactured from high-resistance alloy steel that has undergone a specialized Quenching and Tempering process. This heat treatment refines the grain structure of the steel, resulting in a material that possesses both high tensile strength and excellent ductility. This combination is crucial for lifting points, as it allows the component to withstand sudden shock loads without brittle failure.

Precision Forging and Testing Each ring is precision-forged to ensure consistent dimensions and structural uniformity. To guarantee the absence of surface and sub-surface defects, 100% of our rings undergo Magnaflux (Electromagnetic) Crack Detection. Furthermore, the components are fatigue rated to 20,000 cycles at 1.5 times the WLL, ensuring they meet the rigorous demands of repetitive lifting operations in industries such as shipbuilding, mining, and heavy manufacturing.

    Operational and Safety Advantages

Optimized Load Distribution: The double-base design spreads the lifting force across two distinct welding zones, reducing the localized stress on the base material and the weld bead.

Flexible Alignment: The 180° pivoting action allows the ring to naturally align with the sling's angle of pull. This self-aligning feature is critical for preventing "side-loading" stresses that can lead to premature failure of the lifting point.

Integrated Safety Features: The base is designed with a water discharge area to prevent moisture accumulation and subsequent corrosion at the weld interface.

High Visibility: The bright epoxy finish not only protects against the elements but also ensures the lifting point is easily visible to crane operators and riggers, enhancing site safety.

    Standards

Our Grade 100 Double Base Weld-on Rings are manufactured and tested in strict accordance with international safety and engineering standards.

    Compliance Standards

EN 1677-1: Components for slings - Safety - Part 1: Forged steel components, Grade 8 (Modified for Grade 100 performance).

ASTM A952 / A952M: Standard Specification for Forged Grade 100 Alloy Steel Lifting Components.

DIN PAS 1061: Requirements for Grade 100 lifting chains and accessories.

AS 3776: Lifting components for Grade V (100) chain slings.

    Testing and Quality Assurance

Proof Testing: Each production batch is proof-load tested to 2.5 times the Working Load Limit.

Design Factor: A strict 4:1 Safety Coefficient is maintained (Minimum Breaking Load is 4x WLL).

Fatigue Testing: Tested to 20,000 stress cycles at 1.5 times the WLL to ensure long-term structural integrity.

Magnaflux Detection: 100% electromagnetic crack detection is performed on all forged rings.

Welding Requirements: The entire perimeter of the base must be welded by a qualified welder using appropriate electrodes (e.g., AWS A5.5 E8018-G or equivalent), following the provided welding instructions.

    Maintenance and Inspection

Visual Inspection: Before each use, inspect for weld cracks, deformation, or excessive wear.

Alignment: Ensure the bracket is always aligned to the pulling direction (allowed tolerance +/- 10°).

Replacement Criteria: Components must be removed from service if wear exceeds 10% of the original dimension or if any cracks are detected.
