Factories lift motors, molds, machine frames, tanks, rollers, gearboxes and mechanical assemblies during installation and maintenance. Work often takes place beneath overhead cranes with limited hook travel, narrow aisles and restricted floor space. The sling must control the load within the available headroom.

Selection begins with the verified equipment mass, centre of gravity, lifting-point capacity and position, headroom, crane-hook dimensions, hitch and sling-leg angle.
Single-leg slings suit one engineered lifting point. Two-leg slings can handle motors, rollers and frames with two rated points. Three- or four-leg assemblies are used for molds, tanks and machine bases with multiple points.
Multi-leg use does not guarantee equal load sharing: an offset centre of gravity, unequal point heights or a rigid frame can concentrate force in fewer legs. Asymmetric lifts require assessment by a qualified lifting professional.
TOPONE G80 adjustable chain slings allow individual reaches to be set before loading, helping place the crane hook above the verified centre of gravity. Use only designated shortening components; never shorten chain by twisting, knotting or inserting bolts.
Sling reach and master-link size must fit the actual hook-to-load distance. An engineered lifting beam may be combined with chain slings, rated shackles and approved lifting points to control leg angle or connect widely spaced points. Include the beam weight and headroom in the lift calculation.
Hooks must connect only to rated lifting eyes. Covers, guard rails, shafts, piping and unverified holes are not lifting points. Tanks, rollers and smooth components without lugs may require an engineered cradle, beam or approved hitch to prevent rotation or slippage.
WLL applies to the complete assembly and is limited by its lowest-rated component. As a leg moves farther from vertical, its tension rises. Use the table for the exact assembly and angle.
Verified TOPONE catalog example for 13 mm G80 adjustable assemblies:
Single leg: 5.30 t
Two legs, up to 45° from vertical: 7.42 t
Two legs, over 45° and up to 60°: 5.30 t
Three or four legs, up to 45°: 11.13 t
Three or four legs, over 45° and up to 60°: 7.95 t
These values apply only to the stated TOPONE assemblies and cannot be transferred to another hitch or component combination. Do not estimate capacity above 60°. The catalogued safety factor is 4:1, but WLL remains the maximum permitted working load.
TOPONE G80 chain sling assemblies are catalogued to EN 818-4. They use Grade 8 short-link alloy-steel chain with compatible master links, connecting links, shortening components and lifting hooks.
The catalog describes the components as forged from special quenched-and-tempered alloy steel. Specification, grade, traceability code and brand are marked for identification.
Surface options include polishing, black oxide, plastic coating, galvanizing and painting. Select the finish for the actual environment. High-temperature or chemically active service requires confirmation from the manufacturer.
Self-locking hooks can retain rated lifting eyes when correctly seated. Load must remain in the hook bowl; tip, side and latch loading are not permitted. Protect the chain where it may contact a machined surface or sharp edge.
Before use, a competent person should verify identification and inspect links, welds, master links, connectors, shortening devices and hooks. Wear, cracks, gouges, stretch, bending, heat discoloration, corrosion, a damaged latch or enlarged hook opening requires removal from service.
Avoid shock loading, dragging and unapproved repairs.
